Homework
Math Homework is assigned Monday through Friday. It is a review of that day's lesson to show you what we are working on and provide your child more independent practice. Please assist your child by reading directions and guiding them as needed. Return this homework the next day in the Take-Home Folder.
Reading Homework is sent in the "Red (Read) Folders." Beginning in October, students will bring home the folder. In the folder, there are directions, a Reading Log, and a book. Students are to read the book to a parent nightly, working toward fluency and comprehension. Students must be able to read the book smoothly, at a speaking pace with no errors, and answer comprehension questions (provided in the folder.) Then the Reading Log should be signed and dated. Then the folder with the log and the book is returned to school. There is no specific day the folder should come back to school, but it should return 4-7 school days if you are reading daily.
Other assignments: There may be other tasks sent home occasionally for special projects, to make up for absences, if the student requires some extra practice, or if work in unfinished in class after ample time has been provided.
