Dear St. George CCSD No. 258 Families,

I hope this email finds you and your family healthy and safe. Please know that the health and safety of our students is our top priority. You may be aware that several area school districts have recently made the decision to transition to fully remote learning, through the Thanksgiving holiday, due to positive cases and numbers of students and staff quarantined. These decisions were based upon metrics specific to their school districts.

At this time, we have no known COVID positive students or staff and no known school-related exposures. While we do have a few staff members and students in quarantine, not related to school exposure, we are able to staff and conduct in-person learning. St. George CCSD No. 258 witl continue with the hybrid learning model (remote and in-person learning) based upon our current school metrics.

Please note that the current situation can change daily given the nature of the pandemic and our ability to staff the school and provide busing services. We will notify families immediately if the need to change to fully remote learning occurs.

We will continue to follow the Illinois Department of Public Health, the Kankakee County Health Department, the Illinois State Board of Education, and district legal counsel’s protocols, guidance, and regulation as it relates to the pandemic and school communities.

Thank you families, students, and staff for everything you are doing to help us provide in-person learning for our students. Should you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to us.

Helen Boehrnsen
