Mrs. Krause's Third Grade Classroom

Welcome to the 2023-2024 school year at St. George Elementary School. Third grade is a vital year for students. It is during this year that students are transitioning from learning to read to reading to learn. Students are also expected to take much more responsibility for their grades and academic success than they have in the past. Many of the implemented procedures are designed to make students more responsible and accountable.

            I believe that you are your child’s first and best teacher. My goal is to build a partnership with you and together we will continue to help your child grow and develop in all the important areas of their lives: socially, emotionally, physically, and intellectually. I am a firm believer that open communication between school and home is a crucial part of your child’s academic success. If at any time you feel the need to contact me regarding your child please do so.  I will keep you informed on what is happening in the classroom by emailing home our class newsletter each Friday. 

            A phone call is not necessarily a bad thing. Don’t be surprised if you answer the phone and hear your son/daughter on the other end telling you good news about a test grade, an award, or any other possible good news. The method of positive reinforcement really excites the children.
