Hello! Welcome to my webpage! My name is Sheryl Gullickson and I have been teaching at St. George since 2013. I taught Kindergarten for five years and am presently in my sixth year of teaching 7th grade ELA and my first year of teaching 8th grade Social Studies.

The reasons why I love teaching at St. George are the dedicated families that support this school and the strong commitment of the entire staff.

I enjoy keeping score at many of the home basketball and volleyball games and watching my students compete in athletics!

In 7th grade, we cover a variety of awesome stories and articles in our Collections Textbook.  We will also read the following novels: The Black Stallion, Crispin, and The Outsiders. We concentrate on building reading skills which will benefit our 7th Graders in their other core classes, as well as work on fostering a love of reading! To be better at something, you have to practice! Reading is no different. My students are encouraged to read at least 20 minutes a night at home so they can become stronger, more confident readers.

We also have daily writing workshops focusing on the 6 traits of writing, including the purposes of persuasive, informative and narrative writing skills.
