While I have been in education for many years, this is my third year at St. George.  I earned my undergraduate degree from Illinois State University.  I went to Olivet Nazarene University for my graduate degree.  I have also studied engineering and physics through St. Louis University and Aurora University.  I love to learn and love taking classes!  While at ISU, I majored in junior high/middle school.  I earned my masters in school improvement leadership from Olivet.  Almost half of my career has been spent working with gifted and talented students.  Aurora University helped me develop my background and certification in gifted education.  

While junior high/middle school is my favorite age level to teach, I have worked with kindergarten through high school.  I have also taught the college gifted seminar and have trained teachers in how to work with gifted learners. 

This is an especially exciting year for me!  We have an updated science series called Elevate Science from Savvas. The series is the updated version of the previously used curriculum. We will also be having a student teacher during the second semester.

One of my favorite sayings is, “If you find a job you love, you will never have to go to work again.”   That is how I feel about being a teacher.  I am excited and looking forward to an amazing year ahead!
