Remote Instruction Begins 11-15-2020

Dear St. George CCSD No. 258 Families and Staff,

I write this letter to inform you that St. George School will begin remote instruction for all students beginning Tuesday, November 17 through Friday, November 20, and Monday, November 30 through Friday, December 4, 2020, because of an increase of COVID-19 cases affecting the school and the community. Tomorrow, Monday, November 16 will be a Remote Planning Day and material pick-up for students (NO student attendance). More information about pick-up will be sent to families later today.

I received notification of an additional positive individual late last night. Given the community spread of the virus occurring at this time, it is necessary to take this adaptive pause now and to include the week after the Thanksgiving Break. This pause is to mitigate, as much as possible, the likelihood of possible exposure to St. George School students and staff because of holiday gatherings and/or travel. The blended learning model, including In-person learning, is planned to resume on Monday, December 7, 2020.

While some families may be disappointed that we will not return to in-person learning immediately following the Thanksgiving holiday, it is important that we put the health and safety of our students and staff at the forefront.

Please look for additional information later today regarding student materials pick-up and lunches.

Thank you for your support, understanding, and patience during these difficult times caused by the pandemic.

Sincerely,

Helen Boehrnsen
